A full energy system upgrade was delivered ahead of schedule and within the £365k budget. Outdated equipment was replaced with high-efficiency boilers, heat exchangers, and smart controls-boosting performance, reliability, and sustainability in just 6 weeks.
The Marylebone Hotel, situated in the vibrant heart of London’s fashionable Marylebone Village, recently underwent a comprehensive energy system refurbishment as part of a fast-track 6-week programme. The project involved the removal of ageing infrastructure, including obsolete cast iron sectional boilers, two 3000-litre galvanised calorifiers, and a 24” galvanised flue header- each presenting its own set of complex engineering challenges due to restricted access and the need to maintain operational continuity.
These outdated systems were replaced with high-efficiency Hamworthy Condensing Boilers, modern packaged plate heat exchangers, a stainless steel flue header and liner system, a fully upgraded control panel, and a new generation of Building Management System (BMS) controls. The integration of these advanced technologies has resulted in substantial improvements in energy efficiency, enhanced operational control, and increased reliability across the hotel’s heating and hot water systems. The works were delivered not only within the allocated £365,000 budget but also completed a full week ahead of schedule.
This successful outcome stands as a testament to our team’s technical capability, meticulous planning, and unwavering commitment to excellence. The project has elevated both the environmental performance and guest comfort at The Marylebone Hotel, reinforcing its status as a leader in sustainable hospitality.
"The team delivered outstanding results under tight time constraints and within a live hotel environment. Their professionalism, technical expertise, and attention to detail were clear from day one. The new system has greatly improved our energy efficiency and reliability. Completing the project ahead of schedule and on budget was a real achievement—we’re extremely pleased with the outcome." — Facilities Manager, The Marylebone Hotel
