We replaced an 850kg DN300 valve at the ITN Building overnight, completing all works safely within a 7-hour window. Custom spools and careful planning ensured full system reinstatement by morning.
We undertook the highly complex and time-critical task of replacing a DN300 3-port valve on the condenser circuit at the ITN Building. Due to the critical operations of the building, the works could only be carried out between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am, requiring all main systems to be fully operational again by morning. This narrow 7-hour window left no room for error and demanded meticulous planning, coordination, and execution.
The project involved multiple stages, including the isolation and draining of the system, the removal of the existing 850kg valve, and the transportation of the replacement valve into the plant room. Given the valve’s elevated position, we erected scaffolding and a secure working platform to ensure safety throughout the operation.
Adding to the complexity, the new valve was not dimensionally identical to the original. This meant that bespoke spools had to be fabricated off-site with millimetre precision, due to the inflexibility of the existing pipework. This required advanced planning and tight collaboration between design, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure a seamless fit on the night.
Despite the extremely tight time constraints and logistical challenges, our team completed the replacement works safely, efficiently, and without disruption. All systems were successfully reinstated by 6:00 am, and the project was delivered to a standard that exceeded the client’s expectations.
"Exceptional work under pressure. The team delivered a complex valve replacement overnight with zero disruption and total professionalism. A reliable, skilled, and efficient operation from start to finish." — Facilities Manager, ITN Building
